Raid protection

Raids stopped at the door

A raid is a wave of new accounts arriving at once. InviteCount watches every join, so it sees the wave start, knows which invite it came through and can stop it before it fills your channels.

  • Detection of join spikes from young accounts, free
  • An alert with the suspicious invites and action buttons
  • Automatic response with your own thresholds Premium
  • /lockdown, /massban and a history of every incident Premium

How it works

Raid protection, in detail

How a raid is detected

Within one minute, enough joins and enough of them from young accounts start an incident: by default 10 joins, 60 % of them from accounts younger than 7 days. A burst of 5 young accounts within 10 seconds triggers at once. Premium servers set their own thresholds.

An alert your staff can act on

The alert lists the joins, the share of young accounts and the invites used, with their creator. Buttons act in one click:

  • Pause invites, Discord's own security action, free
  • Strengthen verification to at least a captcha, with Premium
  • Kick the young accounts of the wave, with Premium
  • Ban the raid after a confirmation that shows who is affected, with Premium
  • False alarm: end the incident and restore invites, free

Automatic response

On Premium servers the bot does not wait: it pauses invites for up to 24 hours and holds the invite credit, so a raid never pumps up a leaderboard, and if you turn them on, it forces a captcha and kicks young accounts as they arrive. The response lasts as long as the spike.

Lockdown and mass ban

On Premium servers, /lockdown start closes the door for 5 to 120 minutes and /lockdown end opens it again. /massban bans everyone still on the server who joined through one member's invites or one invite code, with a count of young accounts before you confirm. The owner, staff and the bot are never banned.

A record of every incident

Each incident keeps its joins, its peak per minute, the invites involved and every action taken, by whom and when. Free servers keep 3 days of history, Premium servers everything.

The slash commands behind this module. Most settings also live in the dashboard.

  • /lockdown startPremiumLock the server down for a while: invites paused, no invite credit, verification for every newcomer.
  • /lockdown endEnd the lockdown or the raid response now and restore invites.
  • /massbanPremiumBan every member invited by a member or through an invite code, after a confirmation.
  • /check-permissionsCheck that the bot has the permissions every module needs, on the server or in a channel.

Common questions

More in the documentation.

Is raid protection free?

Detection with the default thresholds, the alert, the button that pauses invites for 1 hour, the false alarm button and the summary at the end are free. Custom thresholds, the automatic response, the verification, kick and ban buttons, /lockdown and /massban need Premium.

Can raid protection ban real members?

Only after a staff member confirms, and never the owner, the bot or members who can manage the server. Kicks and bans only target the members of the wave, and the false alarm button undoes the invite pause.

What permissions does it need?

Manage Server to pause invites, and Kick Members or Ban Members for those buttons. The member who presses a button needs the same permission. /check-permissions lists anything missing.
